ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Wang Fujui (TW)
Wang Fujui is one of the pioneers of Taiwanese noise and digital art. After studying at Golden Gate University in the 1990s, WANG returned to Taiwan and founded “noise”, the island’s first publication and label dedicated to the new music. In 2013 he had a solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Taipei, Hypertransmission. He has performed all over the world including at the Re-Opening of Queens Museum in New York and at Ars Electronica Center in Niels, Austria.

Noise Steve (TW)
Influenced by the rave parties popular in Taiwan at the end of the 1990s, Chen and some friends began to organize a series of do-it-yourself, guerrilla-style raves in such locations as a hair salon and outside a roast duck shop. After viewing the noise art performance Static Riot by Wang Fujui, Chen decided to change course and pursue noise art. In 2002, Chen co-founded the Malt Fermentation Workshop in Taichung City, one of very few venues promoting experimental electronic music outside the capital city of Taipei. The group organized Taichung’s first noise art festival, Electroacoustic Counterattack.

Zagra Killeen-Chance (NZ)
Zahra Killeen-Chance is an award-winning choreographer and dancer from Auckland, New Zealand. Working prolifically in the dance community, Killeen-Chance’s work also crosses over into the visual art world. The artist performed on the first Subconscious Restaurant tour of New Zealand in 2012. Killeen-Chance performed at Treasure Hill in Taipei in 2014 as part of the White Fungus event Depopulate 03. Earlier this year she also was part of the collaborative project to and fro at Artspace in Auckland.

e:ch (MO)
e:ch is the solo experimental project of Eric Chan, mostly known as the frontman of Alt Rock band Forget the G. e:ch is also a member of Macau noise band adeo and currently working as e:ch & the forgottens for a brand new album.

KWC (HK)
Born and brewed in Hong Kong, KWC spends time cutting loops and recording with his non-standard devices, he’s 1/2 of the electroacoustic improvisation duo No One Pulse and co-founder of the experimental imprint Re-Records. His work had been featured and performed in Hong Kong & Shenzhen Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture (2007/09), Architecture is Art Festival (2009) and Kill The Silence Festival (2013/14).

Nerve (HK)
Steve Hui (a.k.a. Nerve) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Hong Kong, whose practice mines the boundaries between contemporary music, sound art, multimedia theatre and underground subcultures. He is a member of the band A Rollor Control and club music collective Sessions.

Wilmer Chan (HK)
Wilmer Chan (born 1985) studied at Lawrence University of Wisconsin and graduated in 2012 with a bachelor in music composition.
